A
resource is defined as a, source of help. Who is
in need of help? MBE’s throughout the National
Capital Region. The DCMBEC is fortunate to have
Resource Partners that are concerned about
growing MBE’s. Because of the commitment of the
resource partners, DCMBEC is able to provide the
necessary services to assist MBE’s in their
business growth. Our strategic partners include:
U.S.
Department of Commerce’s Minority Business
Development Agency (MBDA)
The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)
is part of the
U.S. Department of Commerce and is the
only
federal agency created specifically to foster
the establishment and growth of minority-owned
businesses in America. MBDA’s is dedicated to
becoming an entrepreneurially focused and
innovative organization, committed to empowering
minority business enterprises for the purpose of
wealth creation. MBDA’s mission is to achieve
entrepreneurial parity for MBEs by actively
promoting their ability to grow and compete in
the global economy. MBDA is addressing
challenges faced by MBEs by developing programs
that provide the “keys to entrepreneurial
success”. These programs include access to
financing, access to the marketplace, access to
education and access to technology.

National
Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC)
NCRC was formed in
1990 by national, regional, and local
organizations to develop and harness the
collective energies of community reinvestment
organizations from across the country so as to
increase the flow of private capital into
traditionally underserved communities.
NCRC is at the vanguard of a growing community
reinvestment movement in which community leaders
from across the nation, in urban and rural
areas, are becoming educated about, and active
in, efforts on how to affect the flow of credit
and the provision of banking services in their
neighborhoods. NCRC has worked to make community
reinvestment activism a common local occurrence
and to promote increased community-lender
partnerships.
NCRC members represent and protect traditionally
underserved and vulnerable populations. Members
include community development corporations,
civil rights groups, community reinvestment
advocates, local and state government agencies,
and churches.
NCRC’s mission is to increase fair & equal
access to credit, capital, and banking
services/products because discrimination is
illegal, unjust, and detrimental to the economic
growth and well-being of our society. NCRC seeks
to support and provide long-term solutions which
include providing tools to building community
and individual net worth.
